#1--Pretty Woman (1990)
A Cinderella story, if Cinderella was a whore. It goes like this: rich guy gets lost in LA, pays hooker to show him how to get back to his hotel. He ends up hiring her to be his escort to various social occasions, and to do what hookers ordinarily do. They end up falling in love and living (presumably) happily ever after. Controversial in its time for glamorizing the lives of prostitutes, but a good story with a good cast and immensely popular with women the world over.
Semi-memorable quote, for a guy:
Lady at polo match: Edward is our most eligible bachelor, everyone is trying to land him.
Vivian: Oh, I'm not trying to land him, I'm just using him for sex.
